Brothers don't shake hands, brothers gotta HUG!!!

Good Afternoon Ladies & Gentlemen,

Yesterday was a good day. It started with me relaxing at home, watching "Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law" for about...three hours. I'm sure there are things that I could have done that would have been a lot better...but I couldn't really think of any. I went for my walk, like I try to do (when it's not snowing) just to reflect on my situation and just take in the fresh air and all that stuff. It's very relaxing...unless it's about 20 degrees and you're not wearing a parka or something. That's why the walk only lasted a half-hour. Then I sat down...and worked out by laughing for three hours. If you haven't seen the show before, you should check it out. You may like it. It stars all the Hanna-Barbara characters from the 60's but voiced by Gary Cole, Maurice LaMarche, and the great Stephen Colbert as Phil Ken Sebben (formerly Falcon 7). Good times, check it out.

Around 5, I headed to my focus group. Having a degree in Marketing, I have some experience with setting up focus groups...and since then have been a part of a few that have earned me a few tanks of gas. It was pretty cool. There was a diverse group of people (as diverse as Utah can get) and it was actually kind of fun to discuss the topic (Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to disclose the topic. Sorry). They brought out snacks, drinks, and after a roundtable discussion for an hour, they paid us in CASH and sent us on our way. Focus groups rock.

After the focus group, I went home and started receiving messages about Movie Night. JL Clyde & the Mad Scientist had homework to do. I can understand that. Bubbles was going to be a little late. Foxy needed a ride from work. So it looked like it wasn't going to start until after midnight. No biggie. I didn't have to be to work early...and honestly, that doesn't even matter when I'm going to be hanging out, watching movies with two beautiful women. Man needs two things...and sleep isn't one of them. I flipped through the channels and caught my new guilty pleasure of the day - "The Moment of Truth" game show on Fox. It's the game show where they put people on a lie detector, ask them various personal questions...and as the money gets higher, the questions get more personal...oh yeah, and their family, friends, audience, and everybody in TV land is there to watch them answer. The episode I saw last night was a beauty queen who made it all the way to $100,000 and all she had to do was disclose that she still loves her ex-fiance, say that she thinks her dad ruined her family, and almost had to confess to anorexia (but her sister jumped in to hit this button so that she didn't have to answer). The second guy was an ex-Marine who got caught lying about stuffing his pants as an underwear model. Then again, he may not have been lying. Lie detectors are tricky and fickle things (and I don't trust TV executives further than I can throw them...which in case you didn't know is currently 15 feet, 4 inches).

It's just cool to watch them squirm. Lies coming back around to haunt them. It's like Karmic Justice...on national TV. Bwahahahaha!!! I had the thought that I could do that game show pretty well...but mostly because all the mistake I've made in my life, I'd fess up to...and I don't think that I have anything to hide. "$teve, did you ever masturbate before you were eighteen years old?" "No." Robotic voice: "That answer is...True." "Wow, really? Have you masturbated since?" "Since what? Lunch? Yes. I ran into Summer Glau on the way to the studio and well...her security staff is really good...but I got a picture on my cell phone and..." "Okay okay, $teve just take the $500,000 and get out of here. Just please...stop talking." "Sweet. That's good because I was afraid that I was going to have to rob this place for that cash." Robotic Voice: "That answer is...True." I realize that wouldn't be as sexy and appealing as some of the others...but still, a man can dream.

I also stumbled upon one of my favorite action-comedy-romance-spy movies of all time, "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Conveniently there were a lot of commercials for the new "Jumper" movie coming out next week (same director as Mr. & Mrs. Smith). Sorry, I just notice stuff like that when I watch TV (Marketing degree). Anyway, I like this movie very much. There's guns, explosions, Angelina, the, car crashes, tango, and, hot spies, Vince Vaughn, more guns & explosion, one-liners, innuendo, all the stuff you need to make a good movie. Needless to say, Angelina was able to hold me over temporarily unti Movie Night with Bubbles & Foxy.

I went to pick up Foxy and meet back at my house with Bubbles, popped some popcorn, poured drinks, put the porn away (whoops), fluffed the pillows (not a metaphor...unfortunately), made sure everybody was comfortable, and set up the movie, "Tommy Boy." Classic starring Chris Farley and David Spade. We had all seen the movie...but honestly, I hadn't seen it in probably a decade...so it brought back great memories. "Brothers don't shake hands. Brothers gotta HUG." "Fat guuuuuy in a little coooooat." "That's a pretty girl out there. I wonder if she goes out with one fo the Yankees." Good times were had by all. We even followed it up with "The Last Boy Scout" but when it got to be a little after 3 AM, we thought we should call it a night. So I took Foxy home, talking along the way, wished her a good night, and she seems interested about future meetings...but I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet. As you may have read, I've been wrong before. She's a sweetheart though. We'll see.

Today, I called up my mom to see how she was doing...and we talked for about an hour. Anybody who has had a phone conversation with me knows...that I like to keep it short, simple, and sweet...and occasionally sweaty and/or sexy when I'm on the phone. If a phone call goes over three minutes, even with a bad connection, then I enjoy speaking with you...and I can't just head over to your house to talk in person. I'm a big fan of the face-to-face stuff. Anyway, it's my mom...and I love talking to her...because she's so much like me. Fun, funny, caring, yet always concerned about others...as well as her own sanity. We talked about everything from careers to movie nights to family stuff to my future house in the mountains where she currently lives to politics to whatever else comes up. Big ups to moms!!!

After getting off the phone with her, I thought that I'd watch a movie that I hadn't seen in a while...and is my mom's favorite, "Starman" with Karen Allen & Jeff Bridges. I almost completely forgot how creepy this PG-rated John Carpenter film is in the beginning when the alien mimics itself into a widow's dead husband (late 70's technology for metamorphosis) but it's a pretty good movie...and I like it. I think you'd enjoy it too. It's also really odd to think of the Starman as the Dude twenty years earlier. Also, the orange & black '77 Mustang driven in this movie is almost identical to one my parents had when I was a wee-wee lad. Didn't quite make it to the end before having to go to work...but I'll probably finish it up before going to bed...or watch it with Foxy or something. We'll see. Now, for the news...

More G.I. Joes Named - The list of notable actors slated for this live-action G.I. Joe movie keeps growing and growing...and it isn't the only thing growing as the character Cover Girl will be played by Czechoslovakian supermodel Karolina Isela Kurkova. Apparently, also hired since my last update were David Murray to play Destro and Byung-Hun Lee as Storm Shadow. Release date is currently August 7, 2009. I really just wanted to put Karolina's picture up...and help show some love for a fellow beauty of Czech descent...only she's a LOT hotter than me. It's okay, I can admit it.

Jim Henson Biopic Planned - Empire Film Group has bought the script, production, and distribution rights to a screenplay entitled "Henson" about the life of master puppeteer Jim Henson, creator of Muppets, Fraggles, and a basically every cool puppet ever made. They're anticipating a $30 million budget and want a good director (who doesn't?) but everything is still in the planning stages. You may be asking, $teve, who do you think should play Jim Henson? I will respond with an answer that I would gladly give to any casting call...and that is Gary Oldman. He can do young, old, good, evil, short, tall, angelic, demonic, crazy, and supercrazy...and do it with style. Second choice? Jim Carrey. Why not?

Honestly, that's really all I'm good for today. I rambled on about my wonderful day off...and am helping friends with resumes now...so I'll bid you adieu...and wish you a fantastic evening. Be safe out there...and kind to one another. Pretty please. Peace.
