A Moment for the Ladies

Good Morning Gentlemen...and especially the Ladies,

I'm sorry but today my time is limited due to my work schedule & lack of access from there...but I just wanted to take a moment to thank the ladies for all that they do. Guys, let me know if you feel me. Post a comment so that the ladies know you care.

We know that it's tough to be a woman. Waking up an hour earlier than you need to so that you can wash yourselves off, paint yourselves up, turn your hair follicles into a work of art, maybe a touch of fragrance, and then when you go to work...none of the guys seem to notice. Believe me, we do...and it's appreciated. We may not notice a subtle two-millishade difference in your hair color or that you've never worn those shoes before or anything specific...but we know that you took time to get ready for the day, so we'll through you a little smile & a nod to let you know that it's recognized.

We appreciate the meals that you cook, the laundry & dishes you clean, the boo-boo's that you kiss better, the gentle reaffirming touch on the shoulder, the sympathetic 'Oh' when you hear something really bad that's happened that day, the warm smiles that brighten our days, even the gentle nagging that helps us to remember our tasks & keep us on track.

We appreciate the conversations with fresh insight & truth, the sympathetic ear even though you're probably calculating bills in your head, arranging the house so that the chi is at it's most chi-ish & the feng shui flows like it should, making us feel useful by asking "Can you get that off the shelf for me?", keeping your feet clean so that when we massage them we don't gag...and thanks for not gagging too.

Mothers, thank you for reading to us as kids & teaching us how to reads for ourselves, letting us play video games even though they rot our minds with imagination, letting us use the internet even though I don't understand half of the pop-ups, allowing us to watch the Rated-R movies after you went to bed (actually, I guess that was Dad...but thanks for not killing him), allowing us to play contact sports & make lifelong friends along the way, allowing us to make our own decisions...which led to our own mistakes, and calling us every weekend just to see how we're doing when we're all grown up.

Were we all artists, we would paint portraits to try & capture your grace...but always fall short, write songs about all you make us feel...and never truly grasp it, try to sculpt your voluptuous figures in clay or chisel it into the finest marble, but why mess with perfection? So I hope that this little message will suffice for the time being.

Oh...and ladies, YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL!!! PLEASE DON'T EVER FORGET THAT!!! You couldn't look bad if you tried. Just deal with it...and if you want to hear us say it, simply say, "How do I look?" and wait for the everflowing barrage of positive adjectives that will avalanche upon you.

Anyway, that's all for today. I've got to head off to work in a few & my bratwurst is about to pop on the grill (no, that wasn't a metaphor, I'm cooking breakfast), so have a great day & thanks again for being the incredible creatures that you are.

Oh yeah...and thanks for letting us grow inside of your uterus for nine months before passing us through your pelvis. That was awesome of you too. Sorry about the scar, mom!!!
